Hi, How Are You

Our first graphic novel, The Incantations of Daniel Johnston, by Ricardo Cavolo and Scott McClanahan is buzzing! Literally. An excerpt just appeared in BuzzFeed (super rad). Early reviews have praised the book and I myself love it so fucking much. In honor of Daniel Johnston himself, I reached out to our beloved Two Dollar Radio Street Team to see what they had to say about his music and more...

Why All the Cool Kids Really Love Columbus

An article at National Geographic came out yesterday titled 'Why All the Cool Kids Love Columbus, Ohio.' While it touches on some cool facets of our town, it misses the mark about what makes Columbus an exceptional place to live and create.

China and the Imprisoned Hong Kong Booksellers

There seems to be a persistent trickle of news regarding blatant and shocking human rights violations that persist to this day in China. I've seen the documentary about Ai Weiwei, Never Sorry, and was directly made aware of the government's continuing censorship when we published Xiaoda Xiao's books, the novel The Cave Man and his memoir, The Visiting Suit: Stories From My Prison Life.

Swan Diving Into Scotch (Goodbye Molly)

Molly Delaney is a gem. She has sparkled the TDR office with creative ideas and energy over the past year+. We are sad to see her go, but excited to see her move on to other amazing things! I made plans with her to meet at a local bar before she left. The intention was for us to drink scotch as I conducted an exit interview about her time with Two Dollar Radio. This never really happened.

Book Beginnings & The Reactive

Late Night Library's host, Sean Aaron Bowers, expresses his fascination with opening lines of novels in his podcast about THE REACTIVE with author Masande Ntshanga. I have listed three memorable opening lines that come to mind for me!
