An article at National Geographic came out yesterday titled 'Why All the Cool Kids Love Columbus, Ohio.' While it touches on some cool facets of our town, it misses the mark about what makes Columbus an exceptional place to live and create.

There seems to be a persistent trickle of news regarding blatant and shocking human rights violations that persist to this day in China. I've seen the documentary about Ai Weiwei, Never Sorry, and was directly made aware of the government's continuing censorship when we published Xiaoda Xiao's books, the novel The Cave Man and his memoir, The Visiting Suit: Stories From My Prison Life.

Molly Delaney is a gem. She has sparkled the TDR office with creative ideas and energy over the past year+. We are sad to see her go, but excited to see her move on to other amazing things! I made plans with her to meet at a local bar before she left. The intention was for us to drink scotch as I conducted an exit interview about her time with Two Dollar Radio. This never really happened.

It's always a long road from acceptance to publication, so it's nice to take a step back on a book's publication day and say, well lookie here, we made something. Today that something is an incendiary and powerful debut novel called The Reactive, by South African writer Masande Ntshanga.
