Music Music Music Part II
I recently wrote about one of my favorite musicians/bands, Dolfish. If you haven't already listened to his new album, Foreclosure American Dreams, I highly recommend it. Music Music Music Part II features me shamelessly plugging my own band, Emily & the Complexes. Our new album Baby, Get To It Before The Heartbreak dropped TODAY. Making the album was one of the most rewarding experiences I've had as an artist. We tracked the album in Athens, GA with engineer/producer Drew Vandenberg. He's a really sweet and talented guy who has worked with bands that I love (Of Montreal, Mothers, Futurebirds, T-Hardy, etc.). Athens has an extremely high population density of amazing musicians and friendly faces. We spent two weeks holed up in a studio, tracking the core of the songs in a live setting. It helped create a more organic sound. I could get all sentimental about how far we've come as a band and as people, but to keep it simple, I am really proud of what we've created. You can stream the album/buy the album on most major outlets. The album is available digitally and on Koozie-Cassette via Drunk Dads Records. You can catch EmCo in Columbus, OH tomorrow (Aug. 20) at Tree Bar, or on tour in September:
