Beer + The Removals

THE REMOVALS makes its VOD release tomorrow, May 17th! If you live in the greater Columbus area, we’ll be celebrating tomorrow night at Spacebar (with $2 well drinks all night long) with a screening of the movie followed by a performance by DTCV! Be there.

I was lucky enough to attend the film’s World Premiere earlier this month at the Wexner Center in Columbus. Y’all are in for a tasty treat. The film was shot during an exceptionally wet summer in Ohio. I’ve never seen green so green on the big screen. The vibrant colors layered with Mike Shiflet’s unnerving musical drones creates a mesmerizing feeling of suspense.

In preparation for your viewing pleasure, we thought we’d suggest some tasty drinks to sip on while watching the movie.

My Pick: Anderson Valley Blood Orange Gose

Anderson Valley Blood Orange Gose on the Radio Waves blog by Two Dollar RadioThe beer is just sour enough to tingle the sides of your tongue, sweet and salty enough to keep you wanting more, and juicy enough to feel like you’re actually biting into a slice of fruit. It’s enjoyable and uncomfortable all at the same time. Sounds good, right? If you can’t find this specific beer, go out and find yourself any blood(y) orange sour beer and enjoy the movie!

Molly’s Pick: Retro IPA from Evil Twin

While I prefer the Femme Fatale Brett (lol^), it's a little harder to come by than this easy drinking IPA. Earthy, piney, with a hint of grapefruit, this is a classic IPA to just get you buzzin' enough not to notice how a nefarious agency is slowly abducting your friends and reconstructing your experiences as you're experiencing them currently. Drink it alongside the Modern IPA, which is essentially a re-creation of the Retro.

Eric’s Pick: Lagunitas Undercover Investigation Shut-down Ale

Lagunitas Undercover Shutdown on the Radio Waves blog by Two Dollar RadioEric couldn't decide between this and Dark Horse Rain of Blood. He's definitely choosing based on name here. Lagunitas begs to ask, "If only we all could be trusted. It is good to have such wise fathers looking out for us...Isn't it...?" Could we build the suspense of THE REMOVALS any more with ominous beer names like these?

You can now pre-order THE REMOVALS HERE!
