Radio Waves daily blog by Two Dollar Radio indie book publisher

Staff Spotlight | Liv

Get to know the people behind Two Dollar Radio Headquarters. This week, we interviewed Liv, our former intern turned bookseller!

What are some of your interests/background?
I graduated this past May with a Bachelor of Arts in English, so now I'm just collecting plants and reading all the books that have piled up on my shelves over the past four years. I also love watching True Detective, drinking coffee, practicing yoga, and actively searching for Columbus' best french fries (so far: Brassica, Rally's, Buckeye Donuts).

What book have you read and loved in the past year?
So many! My favorites have been Thing Is by Suzannah Showler, The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, and Her Body and Other Parties by Carmen Maria Machado.

Why did you want to work for Two Dollar Radio?
I've been involved with Two Dollar Radio since I interned with them the summer after my sophomore year. I loved the chance to be a part of the publishing world, especially since the novels Two Dollar Radio publishes are all so unique and captivating. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to join the team (again) and be involved at the Headquarters where I get to talk about books and life with everyone who visits!

What are you listening to right now?
I"m in the middle of moving, so my packing & unpacking playlist is full of Car Seat Headrest, The Ophelias, Mitski, Petal, Frank Ocean, and Phoebe Bridgers. I can't pick just one!

If you could go on a date with anyone, real or fictional, who would it be and what would you do?
EASY! I took an entire semester-long class on Oscar Wilde and I'm TOTALLY obsessed. I'd choose him in a heartbeat! I'd ask him all about his plays and stories and generally just gossip and talk about ourselves.
