Design of the Week | Prelude to Bruise by Saeed Jones

Now that we have our own brick and mortar, we get to see a ton of different cover designs. One of my favorites that we have carried in the shop is Prelude to Bruise by Saeed Jones.  I love the way the image frames the text - with the text color reversing against the different backgrounds. A lot of books come in with wild cover designs that can distract from the title, but when your title is as good as Prelude to Bruise, a simple design with muted colors is *chefs kiss*

"Saeed Jones" written accross the treeline, dividing the water and the sky!? COME ON!

Prelude to Bruise was published by the fine folks at Coffee House Press. You can order a copy through Coffee House, or find it at your local indie bookstore
