How The Incantations of Daniel Johnston Came to Be

It's been a long, winding road from when Ricardo Cavolo first shared his comic, El Desorganismo de Daniel Johnston with me. It was on the heels of using his artwork on the cover of Karolina Waclawiak's debut novel, How to Get Into the Twin Palms. Like all Ricardo's work, I was immediately transfixed, my eyeballs absorbed and perhaps in shock. Like a good story, his art features several layers of images within images, which beckons for repeat viewings.

Swan Diving Into Scotch (Goodbye Molly)

Molly Delaney is a gem. She has sparkled the TDR office with creative ideas and energy over the past year+. We are sad to see her go, but excited to see her move on to other amazing things! I made plans with her to meet at a local bar before she left. The intention was for us to drink scotch as I conducted an exit interview about her time with Two Dollar Radio. This never really happened.

Characters must be "treated well, even in fiction."

Fiction is subjective. You're supposed to have an opinion, and we've always aimed to inspire a reaction in readers, whether positive or negative. We don't want to publish a long list of meh titles, or to have you close a book and say, "that was pretty much very okay." So I understand when a reader might think, this just isn't for me.
