Incantations of Daniel Johnston | A Musical Playlist

Daniel Johnston Cover | Radio Waves

For your reading (and listening) pleasure, I reached out to our Street Team members to compile playlists inspired by Scott McClanahan and Ricardo Cavolo's The Incantations of Daniel Johnston. Whether you listen while you read, or after, is up to you. Check em' out!

Incantations of Daniel Johnston | a Spotify playlist by Michael Joseph Niemeyer

The Incantations of Daniel Johnston | an Apple Music playlist by Elizabeth Gill

This Playlist < The Incantations of Daniel Johnston | a Spotify playlist by Lauren Korn (winter_legs).

Lauren on her playlist selection:

So, I made a playlist. It's a little all over the place; I feel a little nutty now. Spotify wouldn't let me title it, "This playlist will take you more time to listen to than it will take you to read 'The Incantations of Daniel Johnston,' but you should listen to it anyway (while reading 'The Incantations of Daniel Johnston,' probably), 'cause what the fuck else are you doing with your time?" It's made of 40 (okay, it's 39--EDIT: 38) songs, and it takes over 2 hours to listen to, but it reeks of high school nostalgia and of sticky Rainier cans--much like my experience reading 'Incantations....' Whether that's a good thing has yet to be established.
