Design of the Week | HBO's West World

West World | Radio Waves

HBO's newest show, West World, combines all that is The Truman Show, The Matrix, and Ex Machina. Created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the new series is based on the 1973 sci-fi Western thriller film written and directed by world-famous Michael Crighton.

Set in the not-so-distant future, wealthy tourists visit West World where they can live without consequence in a Wild West filled with life-like robot "hosts." The hosts change their storylines based on interactions with the "Newcomers" or "Guests." A perfect storm is created for the sci-fi cowboy deep in your heart.

The show landed some massive actors including Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, and Anthony Hopkins. Hopefully it will continue to impress and fill the void of Game of Thrones ending in the near future.
